Execute in the Short Term
The long-term is the real game,
but if you focus too much on the long-term forget about the short-term — You don't eat.
The short-term is just as essential as the long term.
At its basic level, focusing on the short term is about handling what you need, money for food, rent, transportation and impromptu expenses on rainy days.
When you're stressed about paying for your rent on the first, it's EXTREMELY difficult to focus on being creative and your long-term dreams. Do what you have to do to fill your basic needs. And knowing what you need is always a gut check. Do you really need those new pants or do you just want them? Do you really need those cookies or are you better off without them?
The short-term is also where the action is. That's where your dreams are made. We must act in the short term to make the long-term goals reality.
There is no long term without the short term. The short-term is your daily habits. It's the string of our short-term efforts combined and that gets you to your goal. The long-term is a mountain range in the distance. The short-term is the daily steps we have to take, the challenges we must face and the changes we must undertake to get to the top.
The act of taking daily steps with the big goal in mind is how we create an extraordinary life.
Stay BOLD, Keep Pursuing,

"Long-term, we must begin to build our internal strengths. It isn't just skills like computer technology. It's the old-fashioned basics of self-reliance, self-motivation, self-reinforcement, self-discipline, self-command." — Steven Pressfield
"Time can be an ally or an enemy. What it becomes depends entirely upon you, your goals, and your determination to use every available minute." — Zig Ziglar
"We can do things the cheap way, the simple way, for the short-term and without regard for the future. Or, we can make the extra effort, do the hard work, absorb the criticism and make decisions that will cause a better future." — Mike Rounds
